How do special characteristics appear on the proof? (ex: transparency or kraft paper).

Online proofs do not simulate paper colors. If you are printing on a specialty paper or colored stock such as Kraft, Cream, Gold, etc. then the "white" areas of the proof will be the unprinted areas of those respective stocks. Please keep in mind that ink colors can also blend with a chosen stock color if spot white ink is not being used.
