At 4OVER4.COM, we have a wide range of substrates for wine label printing. When it comes to waterproof substrates, there are only 2 (TWO) options available: White vinyl and Clear/White BOPP. These materials on their own are just water resistant and not water-proof. The difference between the two terms is that the water-proof means impervious to water. Water-resistant means able to resist the penetration of water to some degree but not entirely. Compared to waterproof, water resistant is the lower level of water protection. In order for these materials to be waterproof an extra layer of protection must be added, which is lamination. Laminating a sticker/label will protect it from water, oil and sun. Laminate is an overlay with a layer of plastic which is applied to protect the vinyl from the elements.
